STYLISTIC APPROACH
In crafting the design for this horror comic book series, we strategically embraced the vintage charm of old-school newspapers to align with the protagonist, a newspaper photographer. The aesthetic choices, including typewriter fonts, halftone textures, and the layout of credits, echo the nostalgic newspaper vibe. The narrative unfolds in a world where the four seasons manifest as creatures and monsters, each issue focusing on a distinct season. To enhance the storytelling, we adopted a color palette specific to each season, seamlessly blending the realms of reality and magical horror within the design—a deliberate choice to evoke the immersive feel of a newspaper page.
COLLECTED EDITION
In individual issues, each magazine's design reflects the muted tones of its respective season. However, in the collected edition, these distinctive palettes merge into an iridescent blend across every design. Maintaining the collage-based aesthetic, the artwork now intricately weaves elements from both the past and present of the main character. This approach subtly hints at significant life events that have shaped his journey, offering glimpses into his narrative arc while leaving key revelations for readers to uncover.
