LOGOFOLIO | VOLUME ONE
Welcome to my collection of sci-fi and fantasy logos, a testament to my passion for merging visual storytelling with imaginative worlds. Each logo is more than just a design; it’s a gateway to the unique universes of the stories they represent. Below, you'll find these logos alongside a detailed look at the creative process behind each, from initial concepts to final execution. You'll also see examples of their usage on actual book covers and promotional art, showcasing how they bring the story's branding to life and enhance the visual appeal of the fantastical realms within.
THE SPACE BETWEEN
The Space Between is a limited four-issue series that tells an epic tale of an interstellar generation ship’s journey through time, interwoven with deeply human struggles: love, justice, and equality. Designing the logo for this series was an exercise in balancing the grandeur of its sci-fi setting with the emotional depth of its narrative.
Inspired by the main artist David Luckert’s connected cover designs, where a scout shuttle's winding path intertwines around the characters’ lives and struggles, I sought to mirror this visual and thematic connection in the logo. The letterforms echo the shuttle path’s clean, deliberate lines, maintaining a consistent width and fluidity that ties directly to the artwork.
At the same time, the logo captures the epic scale of a sci-fi spectacle while grounding itself in the personal, intimate nature of the story. The result is a design that bridges the duality of the series: a cosmic odyssey and a deeply human journey.
DUNE
The Dune universe is vast, with as many logos as there are editions. For BOOM! Studios' adaptation of Dune: House Atreides, I sought to create a logo that felt both familiar and distinct—clean and modern, yet deeply connected to the narrative.
The letterforms draw inspiration from the iconic winds of Arrakis, their curves echoing the movement of sand dunes shaped by relentless gusts. Hidden within the bold, structured letters are the outlines of Arrakis’s two suns, rendered in thinner, jagged lines to create a striking contrast. This subtle detail adds depth and reinforces the sense of duality and resilience central to the Dune saga, grounding the logo in the world’s rich mythology while standing out as a fresh interpretation.
ROBOCOP: CITIZENS ARREST
For RoboCop: Citizens Arrest, a modern take on the iconic 80s sci-fi classic, the logo needed to bridge the past and present—preserving the essence of the original while reflecting a contemporary, tech-driven world.
To achieve this, I drew inspiration from the design evolution of modern tech company logos, focusing on rounded edges and simplified shapes to create a cleaner, more approachable aesthetic. The updated logo softens the sharpness of the original while retaining its bold, structured form, capturing both the legacy of the classic RoboCop and the sleekness of a reimagined, modern-day vision.
