FIREFLY: THE STING GRAPHIC NOVEL LOGO & DESIGN

Firefly: The Sting is an original graphic novel that sends the women of Firefly on the ultimate heist. Published by BOOM! Studios, written by Delilah S. Dawson, illustrated by Pius Bak, Sergers Acuña, Richard Ortiz, Hyeonjin Kim, Rodrigo Lorenzo, colored by Joana Lafuente, Doug Garbark, Natalia Marques, lettered by Jim Campbell, cover art by Marco D'Alfonso, logo and design by Marie Krupina.

Narrative independence of this story from the main series allowed me to infuse more playful colors and elements inspired by both the show and the story. A notable element retained from the main series was the incorporation of quotes, embedded as a blind spot gloss within the colorful panels.

Cover below by Miguel Mercado represents a limited edition variant, distinguished by a unique style diverging from the main one. My approach extended to mirroring this distinct aesthetic on the back cover, where I also used a blind spot gloss technique on all the objects featured, revealing itself only at specific angles. This not only adds a touch of exclusivity but also introduces a dynamic visual element that engages viewers with the cover from different perspectives.
